Brewer’s Library Beer Dinner

Hey Gang,

We hope everyone had a great holiday season. We have something special planned for the New Year. Join us January 11th in the Brewers Loft for the first and one of a kind Brewer’s Library Dinner.

For the past 7 years Shaun has amassed a collection of unique, rare and aged beers from other brewers, visitors and on his travels around the world and it is time to open up the cellar and try these extraordinary beers with great food. Chef Lorenzo has put together quite a meal that will be paired with the beers from the
library.

The fun starts at 6:30 PM with hors d’oeuvres in the brewery
followed by a five-course beer-paired meal on the mezzanine and then cigars and after-dinner beers outside in the beer garden.

We are limiting space to 20 people for this special event, so reserve now and tell your friends. Price is $120 per person, including tax and gratuity. Here is the menu just to tease your appetite.

Hopworks Urban Brewery begins Dock Sales

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

Beginning November 30th 2007 you can head over to Hopworks Urban Brewery aka H.U.B. to purchase the fine microbrews that brewers Christian Ettinger and Ben Love are brewing up. Their beers have been available for a few months at surrounding tap houses so the beer appreciators in Portland Oregon are well familiar with these quality craft brews. Now you can spread the love from your home or party too. Just in time for the holidays.

Zingerbier Yummy Seasonal at Lucky Labrador Brewing Co.

Friday, October 26th, 2007

Just tried Zingerbier at Luck Labrador in NW Portland, Oregon. WOW. Dark redish brown, clear with a creamy persistent head. Malty, very well balanced with the ginger which delicately comes forward in the finish. GREAT BEER. In keeping with the spiced beers that we see this time of year with a nice suprising twist in the ginger. A highlight of my weekend!

Green Dragon Brewery’s soft opening

Sunday, October 7th, 2007

Green Dragon logo

The Green Dragon Bistro and Brewpub had a soft opening this past Friday. Brewmaster Lauren aka LoLo was still putting in lines, but they had an outstanding lineup of ales pouring. I’d have to say the best surprise was Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout on Nitro no less. Fantastic. I also had a gorgonzola and strawberry salad from the Bistro that paired very well with the Old Rasputin. The place is beautiful! Gorgeous wrapped wood back bar, Black stone like bar top with glass tiles imbedded with the Green Dragon logo and what looked like magical Dragon Scales. Jim Parker tells me that he’s planning beer dinners as well as Spirits paring in partnership with Integrity Spirits. Keep your eye on the folks at Green Dragon. Nothing was usual. The menu in the bistro is unique and the Brewery’s approach to draft beer is as well. The taps will constantly rotate so it’s gonna be a place to frequent for Craft Beer lovers. Jim talked about their plans in the Oregon Brewers Festival episode here on the Craft Brew Cast. Check it out, and visit Jim at the Green Dragon on your next Brew expedition. Tell him I sent you!
