Craft Brew Cast Blog

I’ve got 6 hours of interviews from the Great American Beer Festival in Denver Colorado 2006, and quite alot of interviews taken at this years Oregon Brewers Festival. Jim Parker was kind enough to host a little party at the soon to be open Green Dragon in Portland during the OBF weekend of action. They are putting a new twist on the idea of ‘Brewing Community’.  The Green Dragon features a brewery, a distillery, a public house, a bistro, AND a beer library! Imagine it, a huge walk in cooler lined from floor to ceiling with vintage and collectible microbrews. They’ve bought a peddle cab and plan on providing a ‘green’ shuttle to nearby breweries too: Roots, and Lucky Lab among them. I’ll get to work putting the Brewcast together for you.

I have been tangled up in making the website more functional, but it’s time to get busy with the fun stuff-Brewcasting.

The calendar is up and running. It is a google calendar and you can subscribe to it too. I’ve included Brew Festivals from across the country, and even abroad.

Check it out on the web site. Let me know about events that are happening near you. Just provide dates, locations, and the event name.

Comcast has identified a problem with their “area node” in my area. The affect is that the internet connection drops every minute or so….kinda like a cell phone.

What that means for us is that the Craft Brew Cast #2 file seems to upload, but is corrupted and will not play or download. Comcast says they’re working on it, and that it’ll be a couple of days.

Meanwhile, I’ll keep trying on my end.

Lot’s of festivities during the Oregon Brew Festival weekend. I ran into Sean O’Sullivan of the 21st Amendment brewery in CA. You’ll hear what he has to say on the next episode.

The news and events segments need some work. Send me details of events near you so that I can “beef up” the Brewcast. What’s your brewery doing?

Scott Gallagher with Rogue Ales did just that. He gives us the skinny on the upcoming Bones and Brews festival.
